The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Kravings, they're here…

Welcome to Kilr Kravings!
I am Reni and I’ve been curiously observing people and our often-bizarre behavior around food, fashion and stuff in general for most of my life.
Back in the early 70’s, life was pretty simple. We had bell bottoms, polyester suits (OMG, glad they’re gone!), big hooped earrings and TV dinners. We weren’t inundated with fast food joints- McDonald’s had only served a million, today it’s a billion-people served- and we didn’t have slick advertising telling us what to eat, what we should buy, and what to think. Okay, we did, but it wasn't as insidiously widespread. "My bologna has a first name, it's..."
Today, we’re at the mercy of the corporate-owned media. And things have taken a dark turn, virtually 99% of the population isn’t aware they’re being manipulated to buy stuff; a temporary “happy fix” for the ego.
We’re basically their minions; brainwashed to eat toxic food that causes malnutrition and ingest poisonous drugs under the guise of “medicine,” while mesmerized by tech gadgets that drain our brains and wallets. The endless search for more stuff is keeping us in a state of confusion as we grow more and more detached from ourselves and each other.
While standing in my kitchen one day, I began reflecting on humanity’s distorted values and beliefs around living.
Why do we choose unhealthy junk food over nutritious fruits and vegetables? When did flavored-drinks become more appealing than plain old water? Why are inanimate objects more important than close human relationships?
We’ve been taught through media-induced advertising to believe lies that serve the corporations. By default, we mindlessly shop, choosing products that have been programmed into our subconscious minds. Stuff we don’t need. Stuff that is preventing us from being happy, healthy and living a satisfied life of purpose.
There is no question that humanity will always desire and wish for things. The question we should ask is this, “Are my choices serving me and making my life better?”
Kilr Kravings explores the human mind and the intricate web of deception that has manipulated and molded the values and beliefs of the “civilized world.”
