Today’s world moves fast. At dizzying speed, we are bombarded with information. A lot of bad information too. We’re told what to eat, what to wear, what to buy, where to go on vacation…

But really, are you deciding for yourself or mindlessly following someone else’s suggestions? Are you thinking for yourself or letting the media and its unethical, profit-driven corporations choose for you?

Who you are and the life you lead is much like a playing field. The field is different for everyone. You know what you want. You have dreams, and you set goals to reach them. We all have rules by which we live. Or do we?

It’s great to have choices. The best choices serve you in ways that support a healthy lifestyle. Are you dreaming about your future and setting goals to ensure your success? Or are you living day to day with nothing to look forward to but your next meal, buying spree or tv show?

If that's your life, your playing field looks mighty grim. Untended, it's destined to decay; slowly drying up and withering away.

Life's rules can be harsh. If you don't play them well, they will play you. You'll be just another media manipulated pawn among a sea of masses mindlessly going through life in search of the ever elusive "happy" place, stuff or food.

Life without a dream and goals leads to unconscious, self-destructive habits. Habits that bring fleeting moments of happiness but no lasting satisfaction or accomplishment. Eating junk foods, binge shopping or living variously through others via your tv set, will do nothing to satisfy your real hunger. The one thing we all want: Happiness.

Where do you start? Get on first, with a new set of rules. New rules are easy. Breaking free of the old ones is the hard part. One thing's for sure, if you don't break them, they'll break you.

How will they break you? Financial ruin, poor health, and worst of all, a life unlived. When the end of your time comes and you realize you never found your "happy," with regret and disappointment you may look back and say, "I wish I'd done it differently."

Fortunately, you are human. You have freewill. And you always have a brilliant mind...
